By polishing my areas of weakness during my interview so as to make it up.
Polishing areas of weakness after an interview is such a constructive approach. Rejection can be tough, but using it as an opportunity to improve and refine your skills is a powerful strategy. By focusing on continuous improvement, you turn each experience into a stepping stone toward success. Staying resilient is all about learning from setbacks and coming back stronger. Thanks for sharing this—it’s a great reminder that even rejection can be a chance to get better!
The comments posted are helpful if the company you interviewed with is professional enough to call you with a decision. Most companies, if you even hear anything, send a very carefully written, very generic email/text stating “Thank you for your interest…”. Most companies do not have the professionalism to even do that. Most will not return your phone call or reply to your inquiry email.
@baker621 I completely get where you’re coming from. I had a similar experience where I received informal feedback that the interview went well, but then I never got an official call or even a formal rejection. It’s frustrating when you invest time and energy, and the employer doesn’t even provide the courtesy of a proper follow-up. It definitely makes you question their professionalism. Unfortunately, it happens all too often, and it’s disheartening. Hopefully, more companies realize how important it is to treat candidates with respect, even if the answer is no.
I look at rejection as saving me from something that probably wasn’t meant for me, and re directing me. Sometimes it is because of something I could have fixed, like interviewing. Other times, its hard to say because it may have had nothing to do with me at all, so nothing to fix.
That’s a great way to look at things @jamesconsidine - nice positive prospective. In short it sounds like you take the approach of the opportunity in the end may have not been a perfect fit so you’ll continue looking until you find it!
Interview failure is another opportunity to learn something new, I can identify and correct my mistakes.
@arfinrana255 Viewing interview setbacks as learning opportunities can make a big difference in future success. Are there specific ways you go about identifying what to improve or steps you take to prepare for the next opportunity? It would be insightful to hear more about your process!
